Gary E. Reedy, 55, 1774 Wilkins Road, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at his home. He was born Aug. 14, 1947, in New Kensington, son of the late Walter and Emily Hutchinson Reedy. He lived most of his life in Erie. He retired after working 30 years as a welder. He was a member of Plumbers, Gas and Steam Fitters Union Local 47. He graduated from Tech Memorial High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. A member of American Legion Post 773, he enjoyed fishing, computers, photography and working with wood. Survivors include his wife, Alice E. Golubieski Reedy; three daughters, Melissa and Carrie Reedy and Michelle Machalinski, all of Erie; a stepson, Jeffrey Czarnecki of Erie; a brother, Robert Reedy of Erie; and two granddaughters. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave. A service will be held there Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
