Pedro L. "Pete" Villalobos, 49, of Apple Valley, California lost his battle with esophageal cancer on Sept. 6, 2011. Pete was born on Sept. 22, 1961 in Barstow and attended local schools, graduating from Barstow High School in 1979. He was employed by Verizon for more than 30 years and spent most of his career residing in California City, he moved to Apple Valley 3 years ago. Pete is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Cindy (formerly Alcaraz), of Apple Valley; daughters, Vanessa Villalobos of California City and Alisa Villalobos of Victorville; also by his step-daughters, Kyrstie Dmytrusz of Victorville and Britney (Charlie) Besnoska of Barstow; and grandsons, Kaleb, Isaiah and Samuel. He is also survived by his parents, Pedro F. and Cecilia Villalobos; brothers, Val (Dulcy), Henry (Hollie), Bobby (Sylvia), Danny (Laurie) and Ruben (Maria) Villalobos, also all of Barstow; along with many adoring nieces and nephews. Pete enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends, classic cars- especially lowriders and Raiders football. He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of being a part of his family and circle of friends. Rosary will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Road at 6 p.m. Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 501 E. Mt. View, on Monday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Mt. View Memorial Park. Published in the Daily Press from September 9 to September 19, 2011.
