The grim reaper has again visited our town and took away from this world our friend and neighbor, Levi Airington. He was born in 1847 and died Oct. 11, 1927. living his entire life in Bryan County. He was a Choctaw and held his allotiment north of Kenefick. Mr. Airington was married to Miss Emma Mock, Dec. 5, 1863. To this union were born six children of whom four are left to mourn his lloss. In the passing of this splendid man, Bryan county has lost one of her formost citizens. He leaves behind him a golden heritage in lifelong record of truth, uprightness and brotherly love. Uncle Levi, as he was familiarly called, had been in failing health for several months and his death was not a surprise to his many friends. He was a member of one of the pioneer families of the ounty and has one sister with his immediate family, who with hearts puncture bhy the pangs of grief over their loss, bow subissively to the will of Him who reigns. No words can express the sorrow that fills the hearts of those who are forced to bed a last farewell to a departed loved one and no words can heal the wound that this grief must cause; no words of consolation can erase from the memory the fae engraved upon the hearts ofthose who stood by the bedside of the deceased and saw the light of earthly life fade out of his eyes Tuesday morning and th elight of another wourld enter therein. Mr. Arrington united with the Baptist church when young and lied a noble Christian life.
The many weeping friends and relatives as they gathered about his laden bier, with eyes full of tears, could not speak of his life as one of praise. His earthly testament rests beneath a hillock, covered with flowers in the silent city of the dead, but he himself is enjoying the golden city delights beyond human meditation. upon his brow rests a crown of the most fragrant myrtles, brilliant with myriads of stars and on his face is no trace of ought save bliss, he leaves a wife, four children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Rev. Barnes, pastor, of his church, assisted by Rev. Rickerson, a forner pastor, conducted services, after which his body was laid to rest in the Center Hill cemetery to await the final call.
