Ryan William Burns passed away on Aug. 12, 2011. Rite of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Aug. 19, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Shane Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Weigel Funeral Home.
In death, as in life, Ryan is much loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Ryan was born on June 13, 1979, to Rory and Diane, who have preceded him in death. Ryan graduated from Mandan Senior High School in 1997 and worked in the family business, Stage Stop. In his free time, he loved to spend time with his extended family and was considered a "big teddy bear" by the younger children. He enjoyed reading novels, skiing and watching football. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh.
Ryan will be missed by his brother, Derek, Mandan; grandmothers, Rosemary Helbling and Leota Burns; stepfather, Kim Koenig; aunts and uncles, Carol (Tom) Schaaf, Mandan, Mary Kay (Gene) Duchsherer, Bismarck, Sharon (Jim) Lawler, Mandan, Patricia (Marlin) Boeckmann, Hawaii, Kim Dahl and Leann Helbling, Minneapolis, Donald (Lisa), Mandan, Dan (Laurie), Brainerd, Minn., Tim (Sue), Mark (Laura), Tom (Wendy) and William Jr. (Sara), all of Mandan, Judy Burns, Judy Burns, Robert (Cheryl) Burns, Linda Ohm and Sheryl (Mike) Massey, all of Mandan, and Rebecca Burns, Bismarck; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rory Burns; mother, Diane Koenig; uncles, Rick and Ron Burns; and grandfathers, William Helbling Sr. and Richard Burns.
