His obituary from the November 29, 2006 Indianapolis Star:

Irvin C. Hollingsworth, 88, Brownsburg, died November 27, 2006 [at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center]. He had been a music teacher for 42 years, with 17 years at Avon Community Schools before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, life member Brownsburg Masonic Lodge and American Federation of Musicians Local 3, Danville (Illinois) Scottish Rite, Sons of the American Revolution, Phi Mu Alpha and Kappa Kappa Psi. He was a graduate of Butler University and Northwestern University. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday December 1, 2006 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation there from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. Thursday November 30. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Terre Haute. Survivors include wife, Meredyth Hollingsworth; and sisters, Margaret L. Armstrong and Barbara L. Lowe.

    He married Meredyth Eloise Lewis on August 18, 1957. He was the son of Emmett E. Hollingsworth (May 7, 1886 - June 12, 1930) and Mabel Fern Carmack (August 22, 1886 - March 28, 1952). Emmett and Mabel married September 11, 1912. Mabel Fern Carmack was the daughter of William L. Carmack (July 4, 1841 - December 19, 1915) and Mary E. Asbury (November 25, 1847 - May 6, 1942). William and Mary married in November 1866 or 1868. The specific date could be November 8, 9, 18, 19, 28, or 29. These family members were all born and died in Vermillion County, Indiana.

    Mary E. Asbury was the daughter of James Asbury (January 21, 1813 in Virginia - 1899 in Vermillion County, Indiana) and Elizabeth Jones (1820 in Kentucky - 1881 in Vermillion County, Indiana). James and Elizabeth married in 1836 in Vermillion County. James Asbury was the son of Joseph Asbury (1759 in Virginia - about 1815 in Paris, Virginia; en route from Virginia to Kentucky) and Hannah Talbott (unknown birth - 1835 in Kentucky). Joseph and Hannah married in 1798 in Virginia.

    Joseph Asbury was his ancestor (2nd great-grandfather) who fought in the American Revolution.
