OBITUARY OF MRS. MARTHA ALICE (DINNEL) FLETCHER
WHO DIED DECEMBER 13, 1952

Martha Alice Dinnel, the daughter of William and Susie Dinnel, was born January 17, 1867 near Jamesport, Daviess Co., Missouri, and was called from this life at the Imperial hospital on December 13, 1952, having reached the age of 85 years, 10 months and 27 days.

She was united in marriage to Charles L. Fletcher on December 23, 1884 at her parents' home in Daviess County, Missouri. They moved to Franklin County, Nebraska soon after their marriage where they resided for a short time, then they homesteaded in Chase County, where they lived until 1914 with exception of a few months in Kansas.

They moved to Hayes County in 1914 where they lived until the death of her husband on April 17, 1932. Then she moved to Palisade, Nebr., where she remained until her death.

Mrs. Fletcher was a kind and loving wife and mother, rearing their children through the hardship of pioneer days.

She leaves to mourn her passing 10 children: Mrs. Louella Dean of Guernsey, Wyoming.; George Fletcher of Imperial; Mrs. Susie Enyeart of Huntington Park, Calif.; Roy Fletcher of Imperial; Ray Fletcher of Wolbach, Nebr.; Mrs. Iva Hixon of Otis, Colo.; Mrs. Ina Enyeart of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; William Fletcher of Palisade; Mrs. Jennie Birdsall of Brea, Calif.; Othel Fletcher of Kent, Wash.; and 35 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Herbert of McCook, Nebr.; Mrs. Ella Terry of Wauneta; two brothers, C. W. Dinnel and George Dinnel of Palisade. Two sisters, Mrs. Jane Lumpkin and Mrs. Phoebe Troxel, preceded her in death. Many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and a great host of friends.

She became a member of the Church of Christ in her early life and placed her membership in Palisade of which she was a member at the time of her passing.

Funeral services were conducted from the Church of Christ in Palisade at 2:00 p.m. December 16, with Guy Sims, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in Elmer Cemetery, north of Wauneta. Arrangements were in charge of Johnston's Mortuary.
