Actor. N!xau was born in 1943 in Tsumkwe, Namibia. N!xau was a Khoisan bushman who gained fame when he appeared in the lead role of the film, "The Gods Must Be Crazy" (1980), the story told of a bushman named 'Xixo' who found an empty coke bottle after it was dropped from an airplane from overhead. The story went on to explain how 'Xixo' who was not familiar with a coke bottle in his world had travelled to 'the ends of the earth to throw it off.' The film made over $500 million dollars. In 1989 he was asked to appear as 'Xixo' again in the sequel, "The Gods Must Crazy II" and he accepted on the condition he be paid 800,000 South African Rand in advance so that he could buy his 3 wives, himself, and their children a cinder block house with electricity and a water pump. N!xau also appeared in the films, "Crazy Safari" (1991), "Crazy Hong Kong" (1993), "In Darkest Hollywood: Cinema And Apartheid" (1993), and "The Gods Must Be Funny In China" (1994). N!xau died in late June 2003 when he went out hunting. His body was found a couple days later. He was believed to be 59 years old.
