Joan L. Marshall, 66, of Augusta, died on April 25 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Waldoboro on Nov. 15, 1941, the daughter of Paul and Esther (Winchenbach) Creamer. She was a 1959 graduate of Waldoboro High School. Joan was owner of Marshall's Antiques for over 30 years where she grew her business through hard work and her honest approach in conducting business. She loved going to local antique shows, often looking for a bargain, or a unique item to purchase to research its origin. She would sit for hours reading her antique books to continue her education in the field she loved. Joan had a passion for the simple things in life, including going to the coast, enjoying the weekends with her children and grandchildren and a good lobster dinner. During her final months Joan developed a very special relationship with two of her Hospice caregivers, Nadine and Dot who provided her wonderful care. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Marshall Sr., her parents and three brothers, Frankie Creamer, Robert Creamer and Gary Creamer. She is survived by her son, Gene C. Marshall, Jr. and wife Cindy of Newmarket, N.H.; a special son, John Fortin of Augusta; two daughters, Sandra Marshall-Ash and husband John of Kensington, N.H., and Linda Marshall and partner Jeff Boynton of Augusta; three brothers, Junior Creamer of Portland, Richard Creamer of Wiscasset, and Bruce Creamer of Wiscasset; four sisters, Loretta Sosebee of Portland, Lorraine Butts of Portland, Esther Brewer of Wiscasset, and Donna Greene of Portland; six grandchildren, Sarah Marshall, Amy Marshall, Alexandra Ash, John Ash, Jenny Kittredge and husband Karl, and Ricky Garland; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Kittredge and Zachariah Kittredge; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Celebration of Joan's life 11 a.m. Tues., April 29 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Nazarene Dr., Augusta. Burial will follow in the family lot, Greenlawn Cemetery, Wiscasset. Arrangements are by Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the funeral home website at www.plummerfh.com.
