Mathias was the first person in our family to bring us from Baden, Baden, Germany to The United States of America, in early 1832 to New York, then to Stark Co. Ohio. "Matthias Friedman, ( Obituary, Oct. 16, 1867, pg. 9, The Canton Repository, Matthias Friedman died in Canton, On Oct 12, 1867, age 79" This was the full Obituary,) It Has also has been said that he died in Hanoverton, Columbiana Co, Ohio, unknown which is wright. The following information is on file at the Stark Co. Library. On Tuesday, April 23rd. 1833, Mathias & Joseph Friedman in The Stark Co., Common Pleas Courts, applied for Citizenship - On Tuesday, Sept. 18. 1838, Mathias & Joseph were granted Citizenship in Stark Co., Common Pleas Courts.
