Nila Underwood Dickens, 69, of 6631 Thoreau Village, Masonville, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at her home. She was born in Rosewood, KY and had worked at General Electric Co. for 22 years and was Co-owner and Operator of Merle Norman Cosmetics for 12 years. She was a member of Masonville Baptist Church, the Owensboro Mercy Health System Volunteer Auxillary, and the Relay for Life of the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed shopping, boating, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William A. Dickens; two Daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Gary Montgomery, and Debbie and Barry Abney, of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Amber and Tyler Montgomery, and Heath Abney, all of Owensboro, two step-grandchildren, Adam Montgomery of Owensboro, and Matt Abney of Twenty Nine Palms, CA, and three sisters, Floestal Stokes of Hopkinsville, KY, Venieda Audas of Dunmore, KY, and Joyce Schaffer of Sun City, AZ.
