Grreenup W. Spickelmier was born at Middletown, Ind., Jan. 28, 1845, and died Thursday, Feb. 15, at his home near Mulhall, Okla., aged 72 years and 18 days. He was formerly a widely known resident of this community, having immigrated to Oklahoma about nine years ago. He was united in marriage Sept. 4, 1875, to Candace Kincaid, who departed this life during the year 1907. He leaves to mourn his departure five children, four boys and one girl: R.J. Spickelmier, of Tonganoxie; Lucy E. Cotter, of Mulhall, Okla.; T.A. Spickelmier, Willis; John W. Spickelmier, Willis; and O.M. Spickelmier, of Mulhall, Okla. He united with the Church of Christ some five years ago and was baptized in that faith. The funeral services were conducted by Pastor J.W. Bolton, and the remains were laid to rest in Claytonville Cemetery.
