DANIELSON - Lloyd C. Mathewson, 81, of Danielson, died Saturday at Westview Healthcare Center with his family by his side after a brief illness.

Mr. Mathewson was born in Providence, RI on January 22, 1930, son of the late Lloyd C. and Beatrice (Rivers) Mathewson. He was the husband of Eva (Gaudreau) Mathewson; they were married at St. James Church on June 11, 1955. Mr. Mathewson served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was a Korean War Veteran.

He worked for over 30 years at Interroyal in Plainfield until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Anne Church in Ballouville and St. James Church in Danielson. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard and flower garden. Spending time with his family was the most important thing in his life.

Besides his wife Eva he is survived by his daughters, Brenda Mathewson and her husband Carl Stafford, who was like a son to him, of Manchester and Linda Mathewson of Quaker Hill and beloved granddaughter Natalie Stafford. He is also survived by brother-in-law Lionel Gaudreau and companion M. Brough and sisters-in-law Yvette Lafantasie and Evelyn Mazzarella and several nieces and nephews.

A Calling Hour will be held on Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 A.M. at Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Church, Danielson.
