ELLENBORO - Mrs. Blanche Lavendar Davis, 83, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Hillcrest Adult Care. Funeral: Sunday at 2 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home Chapel. A native of Rutherford County, Mrs. Davis was a daughter of the late Charles Harris Lavendar and Ada Price Lavendar. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Her husband, Virlen John Davis. Survivors: A son, James Robert Davis of Ellenboro; three daughters, Brenda Kay Hardin and Janis Deviney of Ellenboro and Vickie Ada Searcy of Lake Lure; two brothers, Yates Lavendar of Forest City and Brint Lavendar of Ellenboro; four sisters, Doris Callahan of Forest City, Sue McKeithan of Bostic, Georgian Carpenter of Utah and Eugenia Butler of Ga.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Officiating Clergy: The Rev. David Jendrey.
