ENIGMA — Sara Maxine Cooper, 84, of Enigma, formerly of Tifton, died Sunday, August 19, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, with her grandson Pastor Chris Cooper, and Pastor Clint Wood officiating. Interment will be at Ty Ty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Cooper was born February 16, 1923, in Coweta County, Georgia and was the daughter of Charles Millard Camp and Ola Mae Long Camp, both deceased. She was a retired dietitian and was of the Baptist faith. She had lived in Tift County much of her life, but also lived in Ft. Valley, Georgia for a time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Harvard Cooper Sr., two sons, Frank Cooper and Donald Steve Cooper, and a sister, Janie Camp Cooper. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Virgil H. Cooper Jr. of Macon, Danny R. Cooper of Centerville, James Edward and June Cooper of Perry, and Wayne and Connie Cooper of Warner Robins; four daughters and one son-in-law, Grace Fryer of Montgomery, Ala., Joyce Cooper of Tifton, Barbara and Carl Hancock of Tifton, and Doris Carter of Montgomery, Ala., a brother, Major Ellis Camp, and sister-in-law, Barbara Marchant Camp of Carrabelle, Fla., 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
