8/20/1964- Tuttle Times:
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the First Baptist church for O.C. Haywood, a longtime resident of this community. Rev Alvin McConnell officiated at the service. Music was furnished by a quartet, Mr & Mrs H.O. McClendon, Mrs Carroll Burris, & Duane Ward. Pallbearers were Thomas Haywood, Joe Culver, Steve Culver, Carl Culver, Cecil Kettler, & J.C. Stowe.

O.C. Haywood was born 5/5/1877 in Kentucky. With his wife, he settled 5 miles west of Tuttle in 1916, coming here from Cameron, OK. They lived in this community the remainder of their lives. Mrs Haywood preceded her husband in death. A retired farmer and Rock Island Railroad employee, he passed away suddenly early Friday morning at 316 N. 6th St, Chickasha.

He is survived by 4 sons, E.C. & J.L. of Oklahoma City, Charles of Carlsbad, NM, & Claud of Tuttle, 2 daughters, Mrs Mildred McCarthey of Chickasha & Mrs Juanita Culver of El Reno, 2 sisters, Mrs Rose Pappenhausen of Phoenix, AZ & Mrs Nell Beechner of Moline, KS, 21 grandchildren & 17 great grandchildren. Interment was in the Tuttle Fairview cemetery under direction of the Sowers funeral home.
