EAST LIVERPOOL – Services have been held for DONALD C. BENNETT, 80, of Y&O Road, who died at home Thursday morning, September 15, 2011.

He was born February 21, 1931, in East Liverpool, a son of the late Clyde Bennett and Mary Leota McClellan and was a lifetime resident of this area.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he worked at S.H. Bell for 33 years as a front end loader operator. Previously, he drove truck for Pete Galloway Trucking.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #374 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #66.

Surviving is his wife, Marceline L. Phelps Bennett, whom he married October 7, 1971.

Also surviving are his children, Teresa Marie Reckner and her husband, Randy, of Salem and Donna C. Bennett of East Liverpool, Sandra Wooten and her husband, Bernard, of East Liverpool, James Adkins of Portsmith, Va., Robert Adkins of East Liverpool, and Gregory Adkins of Portsmith, Va.

There are 10 grandchildren: John and Donald Wooten, Melissa Dawn and James Adkins, Marcie, Bobbie Jo Adkins, Tiffany Ulbrich, Allison MacManus, and Randall and Nicholas Reckner.

There are seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a brother, William Bennett, and his wife Barbara of East Liverpool.

Burial is to be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
