Eugene Jensen Aagard, age 90, passed away September 12, 2011 in Nephi, Utah.

He was born August 24, 1921 in Lovell, Wyoming to Ollie Sonnie and Sarah Jensen Aagard. He was the last surviving member of his family of five sisters and three brothers.

Gene married Mary Daley, December 24, 1943 in San Luis Obispo, California. They spent 68 years together, raising their family in Levan. He worked as an operating engineer in road construction throughout his life along with being a farmer and rancher. He served in WWII in the infantry of the US Army.

Gene loved being in the outdoors whether deer and cougar hunting, trapping or fishing.

His real joy in life was his family which included 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. To each of them, Grandpa Gene was their "hero".

Survived by his wife, Mary of Levan; children, Edward E. Aagard of Levan; Diane A (Don) Ballow of Levan; Donna A. Bess of American Fork; Brent M. (Patrece) Aagard of Levan; Tom B. Aagard of Levan; special nephew, Lee Taylor of Mona; 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Lee and Bob Aagard, Zella Sutherland, Dora Butterfield, Mildred Taylor, Mary Stephensen, Sara Aagard, and Matilda Aagard; grandson, Trent Eugene Aagard.
