His parents were Joseph B Boyd and Elizabeth Hartgrove Boyd. Alfred Boyd, 77, of 104 Rocky Lane, Kingsport, died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1966 at Holston Valley Community Hospital following an extended illness. He was a retired coal miner and had made his home in Kingsport for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife, Annie Marsh Boyd, of Kingsport; two daughters, Mrs. Ellaree Fletcher and Mrs. Lorraine Banks, both of Kingsport; two sons, Bernard Boyd of Kingsport and Ed Boyd of Bristol; one foster daughter, Mrs. Marie Miller of Utica, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Alexander Skelton of Kingsport; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Elm Springs Methodist Church with Rev. T. H. Franklin and Rev. Francis Canty officiating.
