Arthur Oliver Moore, 75, a farmer and long time resident of Idaho Falls and vicinity, died of a heart attack just before noon Friday in his pickup truck near the Everett Griffel farm at Swan Valley.
He had suffered a heart attack about three weeks ago and there was no evidence of foul play.
The victim was last seen about 11 a.m. Friday by Mrs. Everett R. Griffel, wife of the rancher for whom he worked for the last three summers. At that time every day Moore would go to the bunkhouse to prepare his lunch and when he hadn't been seems by about noon, Griffel went looking for him and found him slumped over the wheel of his pickup on the Ernest Petersen ranch, adjoining the Griffel ranch.
He was born at Wilkes County, N.C. In 1885 to Robert R. And Mary Almeda Ball Moore. He came to Idaho with his parents in 1897 and in 1905 married Helena Gifford at Blackfoot. She preceded him in death in 1944 in Idaho Falls. He farmed at Osgood and Hibbard.
He is survived by four sons and three daughters, including Arthur E. Moore, Oregon City, Ore.; Mrs. David (Geneva) Barney of Oreville, Calif.; Mrs. French (eva) Smith, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Phillip (Verla) Holmquist, Willard, and George Moore of Idaho Falls and Leonard Moore of Rigby. One son preceded him in death.
Brothers and sisters surviving are Mrs. Minnie Ott, Eureka, Mont.; Mrs. Jennis Phillip, Mrs. Nora Humes, and Mrs. Mamie Johnson, all of Boise; Mrs. Cora Stevenson, Richfield; Mrs. Chloe Bassett, Camas, Wash.; Mrs. Emma Kidder, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Richard Moore, Wilder, and by 42 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren.
