Jarome Harold Foreman (1937 - 2011)

Jarome Harold Foreman, 74, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at Arlington Funeral Home. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 Thursday at Arlington Funeral Home.

Jarome "Jerry" was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Wewoka, Okla., to Minnie King Foreman and Harvey Jarome Foreman. He grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School and attended Gainesville Junior College. He obtained a mechanical engineering degree from Arlington State College in 1962 and worked seven years for Western Union in Dallas. He joined Texas Electric Service Co. in 1969 and retired in 1992. While working for TESCO, Jarome obtained his professional engineer's license. He worked in the Fort Worth, Mansfield and Arlington offices. Jarome met Marjorie McMurray in 1955, and they were married in 1957. The couple moved to Arlington in 1964 with their two sons, Paul and Chris. Jarome loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing. Special thanks to his golfing friends, Larry Hunter and Jim Martin and fishing buddies, Eddie Marion and Jim Lentz. Jerry enjoyed many happy hours in their company. Jarome was preceded in death by his parents of Pampa and his sister, Aileen Bacak of Corpus Christi.

Survivors: Wife, Marjorie McMurray Foreman; sons, Paul Foreman and wife, Laura, of Cedar Hill and Chris Foreman and wife, Rena, of Arlington; grandchildren, Brandon Foreman, M.D., and wife, Gillian, of New York City, Daniel Foreman of Cedar Hill, Hunter and Jared Foreman of Arlington; great-grandchild, Jude Foreman of New York City; and brother, Bill Foreman and wife, Sandy Foreman, of Ponca City, Okla.
