W. H. HAWPE,
REAL ESTATE MAN,
DIES TODAY AT 78

Wickcliffe H. Hawpe, long time real estate salesman, died today in his parked car, in the 900 block of Princess Anne St.

A city policeman found his body about 8:15 a.m. in the car parked in front of the reality office where he was employed. Dr. L.A. Busch, city medical examiner, attributed death to natural causes, and said Mr. Hawpe had been dead only a few minutes when found.

In ill health for a number of years and suffering from a heart condition, Mr. Hawpe had been a salesman for the Nellie Gouldman agency for a number of years, working only part time in recent years.

Gouldman said that Hawpe had apparently arrived at the office early today, picked up his mail, and returned to his car. Patrolman Wright said open letters and a pen were found in his hands.

The body was taken to Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home.
