Cinematographer. He started his career as a cinematographer in 1920 with Universal Pictures' "Red Lane." Producing about 350 films and television shows, he photographed numerous classic motion pictures and comedy shorts, particularly those of The Three Stooges. He worked steadily in westerns, dramas, and comedies from the 1920s to the 1970s. Kline also directed seven films during the period of 1931 to 1945. He was the father of Oscar-nominated cinematographer Richard H. Kline.
