MRS. ROOD'S BODY TO BE BROUGHT HERE FOR BURIAL
Wife of Former Syracuse Physician Dies Suddenly at Bellerose, L. I.
Mrs. Adeline F. Rood, wife of Dr. M. G. Rood, formerly of this city, and a sister of Wilbert L. and Hurlbut W. Smith of the Smith Premier Typewriter company and Mrs. Hattie L. Smith of Orange, N. J., died suddenly on Friday at her home at Bellerose, L. I. She was stricken with apoplexy while walking in Floral park, according to information received by her relatives here.
Mrs. Rood was one of the eight children of Lewis Stevens Smith and Ann Eliza Hurlbut Smith of Torrington, Conn., who moved to Lisle, Broome county, soon after their marriage.
Dr. and Mrs. Rood lived for nearly 20 years in South Warren street, this city. Mrs. Rood was a member of Plymouth Congregational church. About four years ago they went to Bellerose.
Besides her husband, brothers and sister, Mrs. Rood is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Norman Sturges of Bellerose, and two grandchildren. The body will be brought here Sunday night by W. A. Fancher and funeral services will be at the home of Wilbert L. Smith, 652 West Onondaga street, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Dr. E. A. Burnham officiating.
