Robin Ann Rowland, age 18, of Oxford, was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday, November 23 at Oxford-Lafayette County Hospital as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services were held Friday, November 25 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Oxford. Burial was in Kingdom Cemetery in Oxford with Rev. Smiley Eugene Johnson and Rev. J Wayne Morrow officiating.

The daughter of William L Rowland and the late Grace Johns Rowland, she was an honor graduate of Hamlett Robertson School in Crockett Mills, Tennessee where hse participated in Beta Club and the basketball team. She attended Millsaps College where she was a member of the girls basketball team. Miss Rowland was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. William L Rowland of Oxford; two stepsisters, Elizabeth L Shaw and Susan L Shaw, both of Oxford; three half brothers, Richard L Rowland and David B Rowland, both of Oxford and Alan T Rowland of Crockett Mills, Tennessee; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E H Tucker of Oxford and Mrs. Inez Rowland of Greenwood and one uncle, Ray E Johns of Houston. She was also the granddaughter of the late Clifton D Johns and the late Jewel C Johns of Houston.

Waller Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of arrangements.
