WOOSTER -- Margaret L. Benedict, 79, of Wooster, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Glenmont, the daughter of Samuel and Nevada Bell Kinsey, and was a telephone operator for United Telephone from 1967 until they closed. She was a switchboard operator at Apple Creek Developmental Center until health forced her retirement.
Surviving are children Darcy (Jim) Cicconetti, Karen (Charlie) Hardman, Barb (Paul) Lindenmuth and Mark Yoder, all of Wooster; grandchildren Bonnie Brown, Laura Sullivan, Jamey Hatter, Sarah Cicconetti, Chris and Doug Hardman, Stacey Slater, Casey Chamberlin, Morgan, Luke and Jaryn Lindenmuth, Brooke and Dezera Yoder; great-grandchildren Tristan Chamberlin, Logan, Cael and Melia Brown, Benjamin, Elijah and Lauren Hatter, Audrina and Makenzie Hardman; sisters Ruth Oiler of Glenmont and Eileen Hartman of Mount Vernon; and a brother, Dean Kinsey of Ashland.
Margaret was preceded in death by husbands, Allen F. Yoder (1931-1992) and Herb Benedict, her parents, grandchild Jessica and a brother, Sonny.
Memorial services will be announced later.
