William Grieffus Hutson Ferguson was born 1 September 1854 in Pleasant Hill, Talbot County, Georgia to Thomas Dixon Ferguson and Martha A. Thompson Ferguson.

He married 10 December 1873 in Upson County, Georgia to Texas Anna Belle Reeves. See a copy of their marriage license on her memorial.

In the 1860 Census, William is listed age 5 years with his parents in Talbot County, 681 Georgia Militia District, Pleasant Hill on 9 August 1860 with post office: Centre.

In the 1870 Census, Willie is listed age 16 years with his parents in Upson County, Georgia on 17 June 1870.

In the 1880 Census, William H. is listed age 25 years old with his wife, Texas, 24 years old and son, Wiley, 5 years old. They are living in Town District No 561 on 14 June 1880. He is a farmer.

In the 1900 Census, W.G.H. is listed age 45 years old with his wife, Texas, 44 years old and children: James G. 18 years old (Aug 1881), Annie L. 14 years old (Feb 1886), Willie B. 11 years old (daughter Jan 1888), Mattie L. 8 years old (Oct 1891). They have been married 26 years. Texas has had 8 children with 6 living. They are living in 561 Militia District, Upson County, Georgia renting a farm as he is a farmer in June 1900.

In the 1910 Census (poor copy), Will G.H. is listed age 55 years old with his wife, Texas, 54 years old and daughter, Mattie L., 18 years old. They have been married 36 years. Texas has had 8 children with 6 living. They are living in 561 Thomaston Town, Upson County, Georgia on 20 April 1910 renting a house. He is a sewing machine agent.

In the 1920 Census, W.G.H. is listed age 68 as a Lodger and Widow. The Head is Mamie T. Alford (67-widow) with her two sons, Julius (43-single) and Leon T. (34-single). They are in 561 Town District, Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia on 7 January 1920. He is still a sewing machine agent.

William Grieffus Hutson Ferguson died 22 July 1923 at the home of his son, Cliff, in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He was buried in Glenwood Cemetery by his wife, Texas Anna Belle Reeves Ferguson.
