Lester Adams, Hamilton retiree
Lester G. Adams, 83, of 2016 Manor Ridge Drive, died Sunday at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Charlotte Ford Adams. The couple had been married 12 years. His first wife, Elizabeth Lausch Adams, died in 1977
Born in Ephrata Township, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Gamber Adams. Adams worked for Hamilton Watch Co. as an assembler, retiring in 1972. He later came out of retirement and joined the former Ephrata Hosiery Co. as a knitter. He was also employed in the maintenance department at the Schick Corp. until 1978, and went on to work for four years as a custodian at Dutchmaid Inc. in Ephrata.
He was a member of the Evangelical Christian Church, Newport Road, Lititz. He served as the church's Sunday school superintendent. Adams was a member of the Ephrata Golden Years, the Otterbein Methodist Church Fellowship, Lancaster, and the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Fellowship, Lancaster.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth E. Adams of Ephrata; a daughter, Doris, wife of Lester Bell, of Norfolk, Va; five grandchildren; and three sisters: Anna Sweigart of Ephrata, Helen, wife of Luke Sensenig, of Akron, and Pauline Beam of Eden.
