Albina Lehr was born February 4, 1887 at Tripp the daughter of Valentine and Katharina (Voegele) Lehr. The Lehr family was originally from German via South Russia. She married John Hochhalter on January 13, 1910 at Tripp, Hutchinson County, South Dakota.

John Hochhalter was born in Glueckstal, South Russia on July 20, 1882. His family was originally from Germany. Albina died May 22, 1940, John April 4, 1945 at Glasgow, Valley, Montana.

They had at least twelve children who were born in South Dakota, North Dakota and Montana. The children are Fred (1910-2012); Adolph (1912-2005); Julia (1914-1990) (Lawrence Hewitt); Gideon (1916-2001); Katherine (1917-2006) burial unknown (Don Niles); Michael (1919-1987); Andrew (1921-1996); Christina (1922-2010); Peter (1924-2001); John (1926-?) burial unknown; Edna (1928-1929) burial unknown; and William (1930-1992).

The 1930 US census shows John and Albina Hochhalter with eleven children and owing and living on a farm near Glasgow, Valley County, Montana. Their daughter Edna had died in 1929.

Albina Lehr's mother was Katharina Elizabetha Voegele. She was born 13 October 1842 in South Russia. She married Christopher Boerkirchert (Borkirchert) on October 30, 1862 at Cassel, South Russia. They first settled in South Dakota. They had at least four children including a daughter, Rosina Borkirchert memorial #60849991, born 13 April 1866 at Cassel, South Russia and married Michael Hieb and son Jacob Borkirchert (1872-1934), memorial #92664788, married Magdalena Burrer. After the death of Christopher Borkirchert, Katherina (Voegele) married Valentine Lehr after June 1880 in South Dakota. Valentine and Elizabeth Lehr's death and burial date/place are unknown.

In addition to Albina Lehr, they had a son Henry Lehr memorial #74492293, born 26 September 1883 at Tripp, Hutchinson County, South Dakota. Henry Lehr married Magdalena Hieb 16 June 1903 at Hosmer, South Dakota.
