BLOOMFIELD — Cecil E. Graves, 72, R.R. 3, Bloomfield, died at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday at his residence.
Born Feb. 1, 1935, in Frankfort, Ky., he was the son of Ed and Stella (Webb) Graves. He married Montra Baker and she survives.
He retired from CSX Railroad in 1996 after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church.
Surviving with his wife of 52-1/2 years, Montra Graves, are two sons: Tim Graves and wife Carol and John Graves, all of Bloomfield; special friend and caregiver, Susan Fulford; five grandchildren: Jeremy Graves, Joel Graves, Jonathan Graves, Nick Graves and Stephanie Graves; one brother, Gail Graves and wife Joann, of Henderson, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Owensburg Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Howell Cemetery in Koleen.
Friends may call from noon until the service on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church or the charity of the donor's choice.
