Obituary for Mr Barney R. OliveBarney R. Olive, age 91, of Richardson, TX, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in Richardson. Mr. Olive was born on November 7, 1919 in Vivian, LA to Barney Byrd and Goldie Merandi Sloan Olive.

Mr. Olive graduated from Marshall College in 1940. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Force. He also dedicated his time to Lone Star Steel Co. as the supervisor to sales. Barney was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Olive was also a part of the Shreveport/New Orleans Petroleum Club, Dallas Engineering Club, and the Hallsville "H" Association- Athletic Organization.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Glynn (Hall) Olive; daughter, Nancy Rose Olive Webb; grandchildren, Mark Jefferson Baldwin and Marcia Lynn Dillon and husband, Kevin; great-grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Dillon, Austin Dillon, and Matthew Dillon; sister, Patricia Ann Surratt; and niece, Beth Smith.

Mr. Olive is preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Goldie Olive; and brothers, Gerald John Olive and James Richard Olive.

Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Interment will follow at Noonday Cemetery, Hallsville, Texas.
