He was born in Robeson County on January 12, 1947.
Tommy loved Fishing, the Carolina Tarheels and Wrestling. He was a member of the NC AAAD National Champion Softball Team in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Horace Britt, Sr. and Eva Baxley-Britt.
Tommy is survived by two daughters, Blondell S. Sullivan and Candace Britt; one brother, Horace Britt and wife, Kay C. Britt of Aiken, SC; one sister, Cathy Lewis and husband, Murray Lewis of Lumberton, NC; two nieces, Angela Jones and Gina Quarles, both of Edgefield, SC; three nephews, Tony Britt of Aiken, SC, Tim Lewis of Whiteville, NC and Andy Lewis of Lumberton, NC; four grandchildren; eight great-nephews; seven great-nieces; one great-great-niece; and special friends, Georgia Lewis and the crew at Lee's Service Center in Lumberton.
A funeral service will be held at Floyd Memorial Chapel. The burial services will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
