Obituary from Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) - 25 October 2004:
CHESTER - Val Lorenzo Richards, 69, of Chester, died October 24, 2004, at his home in Chester of a brain tumor.

He was born February 13, 1935, in Twin Groves to William Ralph and Sara Myrtle Jeffs Richards. He grew up in the Twin Groves area, where he attended schools and graduated from South Fremont High School. He served in the St. Anthony Idaho National Guard for six years.
He worked as a Hydrographer for the Idaho State Department of Water Resources and did carpentry work. He loved to snowmobile. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions. Val's wife and children were the joy of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Chester; his children, Trina (Wayne) Forbush of Parker, Mike (Juli) Richards of Ririe, Ralph (Lorna) Richards of Rigby, Valice (Kurt) Stevens of Helena, Montana, and Lynette (Rob) Brown of Syracuse, Utah; one sister, Marva Neibaur of Paul; four brothers, Bill Richards of Egin Bench, Randell Richards of St. Anthony and Cleve Richards of Parker; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, at the Ashton LDS Stake Center, with Eric Olsen of the Chester ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bidwell Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
