Funeral services will be a 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lockartand Sons Funeral Home in Cowden, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden.
He was born March 26, 1899 in Cowden, the son of John F. and Clara Oller Banning. He married Ethel May Chism June 24, 1924 in Holliday.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leo Banning of Shelbyville and Roy L. Banning of Korea; sister, Annie Holley of Cowden; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and four brothers.
