Darrell Gene Bratcher, 59, of Louisville, died Sunday, March 16, 2003 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. The Philpot native was Chief of the Appraisal Branch with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of the Fern Creek Christian Church where he was an Elder and Chairman of the Building Committee. He was also a member of the Kentucky Association of Real Estate Appraisers, and former member of the International Right of Way Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy A. and Ruby Mae Bratcher and two brothers, R.C. Bratcher and Jack Bratcher.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Stout Bratcher; a son, Darren K. Bratcher of Louisville; a daughter, Krista Gatewood of Louisville; four grandchildren; three brothers, Ed Bratcher of Ridgeway, IL, Raymond Bratcher and Charles Bratcher both of Philpot; a sister, Mary Helen Pence of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
