BEN T. “BOSCO” TAUCHER

A mass of Christina burial for Ben T. “Bosco” Taucher was celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Father Kevin A. Koch officiated. A scriptural rosary was celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Vase Funeral Chapel. Interment was at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery with military graveside services.

Pallbearers were Pete Cukale, Michael Cukale, Robert Cukale, Gary Cukale, Albert Allais and Paul Reuter. Honorary pallbearers were Tom James, Bret Taucher, Michael Smith, Ben Taucher Jr., Mike Taucher and Roy Hautala.

Taucher, 78, of 305 I St., Rock Springs, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 1991 at his home.

He was born April 14, 1913 in Rock Springs, the son of the late Blaz and Katherine Subic Taucher. He attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School with the class of 1930. Taucher was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II. He married the former Christine J. Cukale in Rock Springs Jan. 3, 1945. Taucher was a retired miner who worked for the Union Pacific Coal Company and a retired bartender having worked for the Howard’s Bar and the Sands Bar.

Taucher was a member of the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the 301st Bombardiers of the U.S. Army Air Force, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the S.N.P.J. Lodge, the American Fraternal Union and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge.

Taucher was past president of the Bartenders Local Union No. 406, pas president of the Rock Springs Men’s Bowling Association and a former Rock Springs City Councilman.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Taucher of Rock Springs; two sons, Michael R. Taucher of Rock Springs and Ben T. Taucher Jr. of Casper; one sister-in-law, Alice Cukale of Rock Springs; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Taucher was preceded in death by one daughter, Frances Jean Taucher; one brother, Frank and one sister, Catherine.
