Donna Marie Marlar, resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Ponca City Medical Center. She was 76.


The service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Jack Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory. Dinner to follow services at New Hope Christian Fellowship at 401 South Lincoln.


Donna was born on Nov. 28, 1934, to Garnett Oliver Harris and Rosalee Sue Moulton in Ponca City, where she resided most of her life. She attended Jefferson Elementary, East Jr. High and Ponca City High School.


She was also a graduate of Ponca City Beauty School and had worked as a hairdresser before entering the NOC School of Nursing. She retired from Hospice, working there until health failed. Her patients were very dear to her as were their families.


She attended New Hope Christian Fellowship until her health began to fail her. She enjoyed fishing, reading her Bible, music and of course her family.


She is survived by her children, Sindy and Ronald Convers of Blackwell, Janice and Ray Engle, Sidney and Therisa Marlar, Sylvia Standard and Tony and Debra Marlar, all of Ponca City. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jerry and Sonya VanWinkle, Stacy and Greg Sinclair, Stephanie and Mike Tineline, Jack and Stacy Engle, Robert and LaDonna Winters, Miranda and Richard Kissell, Charles and Katie Privett, Rick and Faye Convers, Elizabeth Convers, James and Crystal Convers, William and Amanda Delano, Amanda Jo Convers, Naomi and Robert Briant, Brandi and Thomas Reazin, Jacob Pruett, Johnathan and April Pruett, Dara Marlar and Deidra Marlar; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Oliver and Dottie Harris, Patricia and Joe Brewer, Cloene and Larry Graham, Novella and Rick Graham and Sylvan and Teresa Harris; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Garnett Oliver and Rosalee Sue Harris; grandparents, Charles Lee and Letha Ellen Short Harris and Henry David and Clara Teresa Johnson Moulton; great-grandparents, Arlington and Elora Matheny Short and Albert David and Martha Jane Parks Moulton; sister, Garnetta Louise Harris; two husbands, Carl Rorie and C.E. Marlar; son, C.E. Marlar Jr.; grandson, Jerome Daniel VanWinkle; two great-granddaughters, Ivy Cord Convers and Alexys Rose Pruett; and one great-great-granddaughter, Maraya Nicole Turner.


Casket bearers will be Jerry VanWinkle, Richard Convers, Robert Winters, Jacob Pruett, William Delano and Johnathan Pruett.


Honorary casket bearers will be Richard Kissell, Jack Engle, James Convers, Charles Privett, Thomas Reazin and Robert Briant.
