Keith Johnson Mullen was born to Russell Garside Mullen and Anna Esther Victoria Johnson in Pilot Grove Township, Montgomery, Iowa. Keith was their only child. He graduated from Elliott High School in 1938 and worked as a construction worker for Standard Oil Company for many years, laying the pipeline for the Standard Oil Gas Stations. He lived most of his life in and around Red Oak, Montgomery, Iowa, where he farmed. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Elliott Masonic Lodge. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Josephine Nelson on June 1, 1947. Born to them are Steven, Susan (Cavner) and Sonja (Clark). Keith died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska after an extended illness. His body was donated to science.

A veteran's grave plaque has been placed beside his wife's grave which is present as of September 13, 2003, when I (Dann Mullen) visited the gravesite in Evergreen Cemetery. Available information from a family friend indicates that when science completes its use of his body it will be returned to the family for interment, probably at this gravesite. If anyone knows when this occurs or if the body is interred at a different location, please contact me so this interment memorial can be updated. My relationship to Keith is 1st cousin, 2 times removed. His grandfather, Ebenezer B. Mullen, Jr., is my great-great grandfather.

If anyone has a better photo of Keith, please add it and then notify me so that I can remove the newspaper obituary photo. Thank you.
