Burial will be in Noonday Cemetery under direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Bullard, Texas.
Bobby Gene McKay was born Octoer 22, 1935 in Tyler to Lawrence Hurley and Ina Hope Cone McKay. He had lived in the Noonday area most of his life. He had served as a Smith County Precinct 2 Constable from 1984 to 1996. He had owned a construction company for 33 years and was a retired farmer and past president of the Noonday Onion Growers Association. He was a member of the Noonday Baptist church and the Sharon Temple Shriners in Tyler.
Mr. McKay went to be with his Savior on September 11, 2011 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence McKay.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Mabry McKay of Noonday, his mother, Ina Hope McKay of Noonday, two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Darline McKay of Bullard and Paul and Sissy McKay of Hallsville, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Sue McKay of Lindale and Thomas and Mary McKay of Tyler, four granddaughters, Courtney McKay, Tyler, April McKay, Austin, Lindsey McKay, Tyler, and Tonya McKay, Tyler, several nieces, nephews and his faithful companion and friend, his dog "Pepper."
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Molly Bankhead and Hospice of East Texas.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hamilton, Dennis Stephens, Ronny Oldham, John Phillips, Don Dean, Brent Phillips and Van Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Oldham, Leland Turner, David Foreman, Gary Don Lewis and Randy Dean.
