Obituary from the Springfield Union newspaper of 28 May 1961:

Mrs. Letitia Madsen
Mrs. Letitia (Dowling) Madsen of 2356 Main St., died Saturday at Springfield Hospital. She was the widow of Peter Madsen. Mrs. Madsen was born in Middletown, Conn., and had lived in this city for the past 51 years. She was a daughter of the late William and Catherine (Hart) Dowling. Mrs. Madsen was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Charles Robinson of this city. The funeral will be held at the Edward F. O'Donnell funeral home Monday morning at 9.15 with a requiem high mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Southampton. Visiting hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m.
