Mrs. Esther Matt
Mrs. Esther Matt, a resident of the reservation country for the past thirty-five years, died on the road a short distance from St. Ignatius Wednesday. She had been at the hospital at the Mission for some time and was gradually growing weaker and had expressed a wish to come to Polson. As the doctors decided she could only live a short time they gave their consent that she could come so word was sent to Polson and C. T. Belknap went down after her. He was all alone with her in the rig when she tipped forward and when he lifted her up he saw that she was dead. He placed the body in the bottom of the rig and came to town. The funeral will be held tomorrow at the Catholic church at 10 o'clock.
She leaves a mother, Mrs. Murray, two sisters, Mrs. F. Lambert and Mrs. Wilson, and one brother, Louie Murray; and two sons, Frank and Alfred Matt; and seven grandchildren, all of whom live in and around Polson.
