Rose Marie Wendelin was born on June 27, 1930 at home in Fillmore County and died July 15, 1994. She was the daughter of Edward Baloun and Agnes Stejskal Baloun. Rosie was one of eight children born to this marriage. She was baptized and confirmed as an adult in St. John Lutheran Church on Jan 27, 1953 by Pastor Walter Ernstmeyer.

On March 24, 1952 she married Glen (Fritz) Wendelin by Donald Heck at St. John Lutheran Church. They became the parents of two children, Todd and Debbie.

Rosie lived in the Hallam community most of her life. Throughout her life, Rosie enjoyed being with her grandchildren, bowling, polka music, polka dancing, playing cards, farming, and gardening.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tracy Wendelin; daughter, Debbie and her fiance Bill Snider; three grandchildren, Whitney, Kelsey, and Mitchell Wendelin; brother, Edward and sister, Emma Duba of Wilber. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen; parents, Edward and Agnes Baloun; brother, Henry and by sisters, Marie, Agnes, Anna, and Wilma.

Funeral services were held Tues July 19 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. John Heckmann officiating. Soloist was Delbert Reiss accompanied by Pat Butt. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Larry Hajek, Russell Weidner, August Wendelin, Rodney Strufing, Dale Gropp, and Alvin Duba.
