Tom was the son of Oscar B & Lucinda Holli-
field Edwards, and the husband of Peggy Lewis Edwards, who died less than three weeks after her husband.
He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. in 1992 and had lived in Newport News for 35 years, but was a native of Buncombe County, NC. He was a member of The Gospel Tabernacle, where his wife was pastor.
Tom was survived by his wife; a daughter, Linda; three grandsons, and a brother.
Services were held for Tom Edwards on Wednesday, March 8, 1995 in the chapel of West Funeral Home.
Burial: Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
