Obituary:

FIELDER JONES BEALL, 81, died of heart complications June 17, 2003.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Irish Beall.

Fielder married Dottie May 23, 1943 and was commissioned the next week into the Army Air Corps. He served as a C-47 and C-46 pilot flying the "hump" and other missions in China, Burma and India. He proudly received two Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Fielder returned home and began to utilize his mechanical engineering degree from Rensselaer as a young power engineer for Texaco in Lockport, Illinois. He had increasing responsibilities through the years retired in 1983 in Houston as the head of Environment, Health and Safety for Texaco USA. Beginning his childhood in Wyoming, Fielder has always been an avid sportsman. He enjoyed playing golf at Lakeside Country Club where he was a member for 25 years. Every place Fielder lived he was deeply involved in leadership roles in the church and community. He was church elder, school board member, Little League Coach, Cub Scout Leader, church treasurer, youth leader among many other roles.

He was a very proud husband, father and father-in-law of three sons and their wives, Jim and Anne, John and Jan, Phil and Peggy and his seven grandchildren, Kristin, Catherine, Sarah, Sam, Susan, Anna, Charley, and two great grandchildren, Garrett and Parker.

An interment is scheduled at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, 77079, June 21 at 9:30 am followed by a Memorial Service at St. Thomas Presbyterian Church, 14100 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX, 77079 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fielder J. Beall Memorial Fund at St. Thomas Presbyterian Church.
