Suzanne was born April 1, 1938, in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She resided in Houston and the Bay Area since 1963. She was in the bridal and formal wear business in Webster as the owner of Colleen's Bridal and Formal Wear for eight years until retirement. Over the years she has been President of Bay Area Panhellenic, Bay Area Symphony League, Bay Area Museum Guild where she and four others designed and made the Sesquicentennial Quilt in 1986 that still hangs in the museum. Some of her favorite pastimes were working with the Armand Bayou Nature Center and the Galveston County Agriculture Center where she was a master gardener.
Survivors include her husband, Malcolm Hicks, of 42 years; Daughter, Melissa Bueker of Dickinson; Sons, Jeffrey of Bacliff, Mark and wife Barbara of San Leon; Sister, Cornelia Moniot of Marble Falls; Grandsons; Jonathan Hicks, Gregory Bueker and Seth Sens; Granddaughter, April Hicks and numerous other loving family members and friends.
An inurnment is scheduled at Forest Park East Cemetery on Saturday, June 21, 2003, at 2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. A service of remembrance will be held at Bay Area Museum-Clear Lake Park, 5100 Nasa Rd 1, immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2909 W. Holcombe, Houston, Texas 77030.
