Grand Aunt

12 years old

Levina Rachel King born 1/11/1898 died 1910. The family called her "Vina". My dad's first full brother Albert (Redhorse) was two years younger than she. He remembered her as being a pretty girl who had long dark braids and loved school. When they came home from school one day she spent the evening memorizing a poem for the next day. But she woke up too ill to attend school that day and died that evening at 12 years old. No one in the family ever seemed to know exactly the nature of her illness.

As told to me by my cousin Sue

She is buried beside her grandparents
James & Elvira Bravard in Knob Prairie Cemetery

Tiny Angels
Tiny Angels rest your wings
sit with me for awhile.
How I long to hold your hand,
And see your tender smile.
Tiny Angel, look at me,
I want this image clear....
That I will forget your precious face
Is my biggest fear.
Tiny Angel can you tell me,
Why you have gone away?
You weren't here for very long....
Why is it, you couldn't stay?
Tiny Angel shook his head,
"These things I do not know....
But I do know that you love me,
And that I love you so".
