Obituary of Elwood A. O'Donnell, New York Times, April 15, 1931,"Pelham, NY, April 14 - Funeral services were held here today for Elwood A. O'Donnell, World War I veteran. Burial took place in Beechwood Cemetery, New Rochelle. Mr. O'Donnell graduated from New York University as a civil engineer. He was a partner in the Senn-Herrick Roofing Corp. of Hartford, Conn. During the war he attained the rank of lieutenant in the Engineering Corps and was later transferred to the tank corps."

Elwood was the son of Judge John R. O'Donnell and Mary Louise Gardner. He married Helen Marie Barker, daughter of Dr. Charles A. Barker and Mary Elizabeth Brotherton Barker in New Haven, Connecticut, 28 June 1928.
