Leslie Warren Collier III, 69, of the 1300 block of Waterlily Road, died March 6, 2000, at his residence.
He was born in Portsmouth, son of the late Leslie Warren Collier Jr. and the late Martha Irene Whitfield Ritter and was the husband of Jacqueline Rogers Collier of the home. He was a retired maritime master of Ocean Vessels and a member of Coinjock Baptist Church and Currituck Masonic Lodge No. 463 AF&AM.
Besides his wife, Mr. Collier is survived by two sons, Leslie Warren Collier IV and his wife, Susan, of Roswell, Ga., and Wiehrs Lewis Collier and his wife, Cydney, of Saunderstown, R.I.; a sister-in-law, Janet W. Rogers of the residence; two brothers, Harry C. Collier and his wife, Judith, of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Milton Ronald Collier of the Virgin Islands; four granddaughters, Zara Jacqueline Collier and Hannah Janine Collier, both of Saunderstown, R.I., and Virginia Elaine Collier and Leigh Ann Collier, both of Roswell, Ga.; and two nieces, Jeannette Johnson and Glynis Barnett.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, with Mr. Wayne Twiford officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Albemarle Regional Health Services of Hospice, P.O. 189, Elizabeth City, NC 27907-0189.
