Alvin Theodore Corwin, 86, died March 26, 2014, at Sterling Presbyterian Manor, Sterling, Kan. He was born Sept. 2, 1927, to Earnest Andrew and Mable Louis Richter Corwin in Little River, Kan. Alvin was a supervisor for Dillon's Warehouse for over forty seven years and was attending Temple Baptist Church and was a member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2550, Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M., Loyal Order of Moose #982, and Midian Shriners. On June 16, 1956, Alvin married Anita May Moore in Hutchinson. She died July 7, 2007. Survivors include: sons, Gary Corwin and wife Cheryl of Halstead, Durlin Corwin of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, JoAnn Corwin of Hutchinson;/ grandchildren, Brain Corwin and wife Jenny and Jason Corwin; great-granddaughter, Ashley Corwin; brother, Ray Corwin and wife Mary Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Luella Griffiett, Cliff Corwin, Glenn Corwin, Florence Johnson, Harold Corwin, Ray Corwin, Rosalie Montgomery and Betty Crane. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard Stafford presiding. Burial will follow in Sego Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, Kan., with military honors conducted by United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Reno County or Temple Baptist Church, in care of Eliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
