Paul Nichols, 69, of Route 1, Eddyville, died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 26, 1997 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on Sept 10, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wis., to the late William and Elsie Arseneal Nichols.

Mr. Nichols was an iron worker and a verteran of Worl War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Harrisburg First Christian Church, Iron Workers Local Union 395, Hammond, Ind.; Masonic Lodge in Griffith, Ind.

Surviving are his wife, the former Oma Kelley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Charles Hobbs of Eddyville, Denise and Dennis Kelly of Schererville, Ind. and Patti and Rob Green of Griffith; one son, Darold and wife Betty Mae Nichols of Griffith; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Also surviving are five brothers and sisters, Lettie Freda of Milwaukee, Wis., COnrad Nichols and William Nichols, both of Milwaukee, Walter Nichols of Utica, Mich., and Joan Laviolette of Griffith. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Lambert Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Troy Humphrey will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery at Harrisburg with military rites by the Harrisburg and Carrier Mills Legion Posts. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lourdes Hospice and may be left at the funeral home.
