Russell J Carroll married Louise A (Lucy/Lulu) Kradell, the daughter of Gustave G and Amelia Ochsner Kradell of Newark, New Jersey in about 1912; they had one child together, Clifford J. Carroll (1913-1985). Following the untimely death of his wife in 1921, Russell remained in the Newark, NJ area working as a fire inspector and finally, as a Newark city policeman. Russell was also a veteran of the US Navy, having served a tour of four years as a Water Tender.
